Family Holiday Party

Last night was the 2nd annual family holiday party hosted by me.  We used to meet every year at my uncles house but since his passing last Feb I took over the hosting of the gathering.  It is really a lot of fun.  missing my uncles son and grandson though this year.  It felt really good to hear the laughter and the fellowship of not only my family but my friends... The family I wasn't given but I hand picked.  I wish i would have thought to take some pics of the spread... WOW... what a feast we had.  My sis made the best ham with a sweet fruit braise... to die for...

The white elephant gift exchange was a riot!  Dad told the story of when he experienced his invisibility.... He was amazing.  I wish I would have video taped the chaos.  presents were flying everywhere.... I think there were 30 people in the house.  We converted the garage into a media room and kicked all the kids in there.  Beatles rock band was going full swing and we celebrated my youngest brothers birthday...  complete with live guitar accompaniment (played by my (younger) brother (I'm the oldest ).

The peeps... Back row are my brothers
Middle me and dad
Front my boy

This one is me and my adopted sister at my company holiday party... She and I have been sisters since we met in high school.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season which ever holiday you celebrate.  And that you find the peace and love that hopefully you can find in the mix of the hustle and bustle of the season.
